The Jerudong Park Playground is now open to the public after it was closed for renovation since September last year. The official re-opening ceremony of the Playground was held last night. His Majesty’s son, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel consented to open the Playground. With His Royal Highness was his sister, Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

On arrival at the park, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah were greeted by the Minister of Education, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong; the Second Minister of Finance at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim; and the Permanent Secretary of Policy and Investment at the Ministry of Finance, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Chairman of the Jerudong Park and Country Club. This was followed by a photo-taking.

His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel declared the Playground open to the bursts of fireworks which lit the beautiful sky.

Their Royal Highnesses also consented to receive PASAMBAH in the form of a model of the Jerudong Playground Park.

A special transport awaited Their Royal Highnesses which took them to the first stop, the Double Decker Carousel.

Their Royal Highnesses proceeded to the Junior Coaster.

The next stop was the Ferris Wheel.

Their Royal Highnesses also tried out the Lazer Maze and Kids Playground.

The next stop was the 21-hole Mini Golf which was designed by world renown designers from Australia.

His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness also tried out other games at the Playground. The five additional features to the Playground are the Mini Water Park, Ferries Wheel, Junior Coaster, Lazer Maze and Mini Golf. Meanwhile, 4 other games currently under reconstruction are the Double Decker Carousel, Bumper Car, Kids Playground and Paddle Boat.

Members of the Jerudong Park and Country Club also hosted a luncheon in honour of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

Before leaving the venue, Their Royal Highnesses consented to receive PASAMBAH.

Apart from the fun games, other facilities available at the Playground are food stalls and mini shops selling souvenirs. The Jerudong Park Playground was built in 1994 in conjunction with His Majesty’s 48th birthday celebration. With its reopening, members of the public can once again enjoy the parks and games. Entrance fee for adults is $15.00 and $8.00 for children.
