CROWDS of people gathered Saturday night at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre to enjoy multicultural performances from around the region at Progresif Cellular’s 3rd Cultural Night.

The three-hour programme was held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 71st Birthday celebration.

The event’s guest of honour was Edzwan Zukri bin Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adnan, a Board member of Progresif.

He was accompanied by Paul Taylor, the CEO of Progresif, as well as members of management and stakeholders.

Other invitees and attendees included partners from the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports (MCYS), Brunei Tourism, the Indonesian, Philippine and Indian embassies, as well as Filipino, Permai (Indonesian) and Indian associations.

The night showcased the rich diversity of cultures in Brunei through a series of dance and song performances.

They included the traditional Iban welcoming dance ‘Ngajat’, the Bollywood dance and Chinese lantern dance, among many others.

The event culminated with a final performance entitled ‘United Towards a Progresif Brunei’, which brought together all 116 performers of different nationalities and cultures together to end a night filled with creativity.

Apart from the performances, Progresif also gave away prizes through some fun quizzes participated by audience members.
